What does Santosha mean?
Santosha is a Sanskrit word that means the cultivation of contentment. This doesn’t mean joyfully skipping through life, but being content with the good, bad and the ugly in your day-to-day experience. Being connected to yourself, and feeling good about it. Not easy to do in a fast-paced, over-stimulated world.
Retreats, even short ones, can give you space to invite Santosha into your life.

My story

My name is Kathy Parsons and I'm the Founder of Santosha Warrior One Day retreats which is part of my wellness company, The Santosha Life.
I call myself a Type-A in Recovery. For many years, I was constantly seeking perfection and would push myself at work and in my personal life. Yet no matter how much I achieved, I never felt fully satisfied. I was always seeking something more. Not an uncommon story to be sure.
I started to dip my toe into yoga and meditation, and saw a glimpse of something different. Something authentic…
I began seeking out yoga and fitness retreats around the world. It started with a surf and yoga retreat in Costa Rica, and it grew into a bi-annual exploration of incredible wellness experiences around the world! The connections I made with other people and with myself were the real deal.

When I wasn’t able to take time off of work, I would do hours of online research searching for a hit of wellness close to my home base in Toronto. I was only ever able to find one weekend experience that came close to what I was looking for. So in many ways, I’ve been researching the formula for my one day Santosha Warrior retreats for many years!
Long story longer, I decided to leave my established career in marketing and fundraising to pursue yoga training, retreat hosting and wellness full-time. Thirty international retreats later, with a regular yoga teaching schedule, a growing Wellness Workshop business and The Santosha Life has been born.
Santosha Warrior One Day Retreats fall under this umbrella and represent another way for folks to find authentic connection, contentment, and to feel good.
I’m still learning and growing, every day, with every conversation and experience. I’m meeting more and more Santosha Warriors and as a result, my life has become more enriched, fulfilled (and fun!).
I hope you will join our community, explore and share your inner warrior with others.
Wishing you a Santosha life.
Kathy
