RAIN DATE: We'll need to make the call to reschedule the retreat if rain seems likely 72 hours out. The rain date is Sunday, September 10th.  If the rain date doesn't work for you, you can bank your registration for a future retreat or I will provide you with a refund. 

This one day retreat is designed to shift your perspective and see the city in a different way while flowing, recharging the batteries, exploring, nourishing the body, connecting with community and having a great time! 

Nestled away on Algonquin Island, the outdoor space is an open air platform surrounded by lush gardens and trees. Located minutes away from Ward's Island Beach it is the perfect environment to reconnect with nature.

Sierra and her partner Kent are starting out on their retreat hosting journey, so the space doesn't have the bells and whistles of an established retreat centre yet, but it's got lots of heart! Bring your mat and sense of adventure and be prepared to experience Toronto in a new way! ​

I'm keeping this retreat small (up to 12 people max). I look forward to sharing this adventure with you! 

The schedule

  • 9:30                 Ferry leaves from Jack Layton Terminal
  • 9:45 - 10:00    Welcome to Ward's Island! (I'll meet you at the ferry and take you to our yoga space)
  • 10:00 - 10:15    Welcome drink + intention-setting
  • 10:15 - 11:30      Flow Yoga withy Kathy
  • 11:45 - 12:45    Tasty and Nutritious Gluten-Free Lunch prepared by Sierra
  • 12:45 - 1:45     Free time for reflection or exploration (walk the boardwalk, sit on the beach etc)
  • 2:00 - 2:30      Breathwork, Guided Meditation and Closing
  • 2:45                 Ferry departs the Island (no rush to leave! Feel free to stay).
​*Please note that the kitchen where the lunch is prepared is not a nut-free kitchen. 
Note: Schedule may shift slightly as the day unfolds.
Option to stay as long as you like to enjoy the island! The ferry leaves on the hour.

Simply email via e-transfer the retreat fee of $140 (which includes the HST) to [email protected] with Toronto Island Retreat in the subject line.  
​The price includes venue rental, catering (which has gone up quite a bit), a little gift, and a modest profit. If you would like to come but have financial constraints, reach out and we can discuss a discount! 

I will send you a confirmation email once your booking has gone through with a few questions (like if you have dietary restrictions) Please note the Cancellation Policy below and that each participant will be required to sign a Waiver before participating in the retreat.

The INVESTMent

Your Registration includes: 
  • Welcome drink and little gift
  • Intention-setting
  • Flow Yoga Class 
  • Guided mindfulness meditation and breathwork
  • Delicious, healthy lunch lovingly prepared by Chef Sierra Day
  • A goodie to take home
Registration does not include: 
  • Ferry ticket (approximately $9 for the return trip)
  • Optional paddling or kayaking if you'd like to stay after the retreat is over ($30 - see below)

How to get there

Make your way to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal on the waterfront for the 9:30 ferry departure to Ward's Island. It's a 15 minute ride and we'll arrive on the island at 9:45. I'll be there to greet you as you disembark from the ferry! 

You can buy your return tickets in advance or you can go a little earlier and buy them at the gate. 

The schedule has us returning on the 2:45 pm Ferry from Ward's Island, but you can come back at anytime you'd like. You can find the ferry schedule here. 

Free Time

The island has so many options for your to explore! Depending on your mood, relax on the Ward's Island beach, walk or bike around the boardwalk, or go next door to book some time for a stand-up paddle or kayak!

If you'd like to go for a paddle or kayak, please visit Toronto Island SUP to book your time.

Solo SUP and kayak rentals start at $30 for the first hour + $10 each additional hour, per person. They also have tandem kayaks, $45 for the first hour +$15 each additional hour, per boat. All prices are excluding taxes and fees.

When Kathy is not leading mindful movement and breathwork classes and workshops on Zoom and across the city, she's hosting retreats around the world.
Having hosted almost 40 international, boutique retreats around the world, Kathy wanted to create something closer to home for those strapped on time (but long on lists!).
She created and launched first one day retreat in 2017.   Since then this program has brought hundreds of like-minded people together for a day of well-deserved connection. 

 
Kathy left the corporate world in 2004 to pursue her passion of wellness and travel and currently runs several wellness businesses. The Santosha Warrior One Day Retreats are part of her company:

SIERRA DAY

I am a professional culinary nutritionist, formally trained and educated in both nutrition and culinary arts. With over 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry, including my current role as the menu developer of Impact Kitchen, a health-conscious restaurant chain based in Toronto, I have honed my expertise in creating delectable and nutritious dishes.
Beyond my culinary pursuits, I am dedicated to my lifelong passion for yoga. Having practiced yoga for 14 years, I deepened my knowledge by completing a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in India. This experience led me to adopt a holistic approach to health; one where well-being is achieved through the integration of nutrition, movement and inclusive communities.
Everyone has something to offer. I strive to inspire individuals to embrace a lifestyle that nourishes their bodies and souls. By harmonizing my culinary expertise with my yoga practice, I create meaningful connections between food, mindfulness, and overall wellness.

CANCELLATION POLICY & RAIN DATE

The rain date will be determined. If that doesn't work for you, you'll receive a full refund. 

We get it, things happen!

If you need to cancel 7+ days prior to the start of the retreat, we will refund you 100%. (Please note: we will keep a nominal fee of $10 to cover a small portion of the administrative expenses).

  • 7 - 2 days before the retreat is due to start, you will receive a 50% refund or you can find another person to take your place and transfer your investment to them. 
  • 2 days (48 hours) before the retreat is due to start, it's non-refundable. 
         We encourage you to find another person to take your place and transfer your retreat investment to them.
         However, please note that it may not be possible to accommodate any lunch modifications (we will try our
         best!).
